Mr. Muhammad Uris Umrani

… with a Masters degree in Sociology, an MBA from the University of Sindh and an MSc in Rural Development under the Linkage Program of Sindh Development Study Center (SDSC) – WYE college of London is an independent consultant. He has been working with number of organizations such as OMV (Pak), Save the Children UK Islamabad, Creative Associates Washington DC, The Mitchel Group Washington DC, British High Commission through Children First. He has conducted various studies for the valuable clients as a Project Evaluator. He has also served as M & E Specialist in number of organizations such as Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) and OMV (Pak).

Mr. Umrani not only facilitated the trainings on M&E but has also been involved in designing of M & E systems for various organizations. He was associated with Save the Children (UK) based in Islamabad in its one of projects “Mitigation Child Labour through Education in Pakistan (MCLEP) as Education Specialist where he supported partner organization in M & E system development. He has also supported ASK Development in establishment of M&E systems of its Skills and Employability Projects. He led the team which developed M & E framework for District Youth Assembly Project of British Council Pakistan. He was also the part of the team which conducted project end evaluation of FATA Capacity Building Programme funded by USAID implemented by DIA.

He is a graduate of Social Enterprise Development from Lahore University of Management Sciences “LUMS” and from INTRAC London on “Northern advocacy approaches”

He had been working with number of Organizations as a Community Development Expert such as, Associate Consultants Engineers (ACE) Karachi Sindh Development Study Centre, Raasta Development Consultants Karachi, OMV (Pak) Islamabad, Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), Book Group and Indus Resource Center (IRC). While working with ACE, he conducted socio-economic survey of the Chotiari Dam area. Based on survey he supported consultants for preparation of resettlement plan for the affectees. Proposal writing, survey designing were his key responsibilities in Sindh Development Studies centre. He had also provided consultancy services to OMV (Pak) for designing and implementation of its community development programme in Khairpur and Sukkur region including its Education Programme.

He is very much familiar with current techniques of project evaluation and has practical experience of work across Pakistan.
